This season was dominated by two big men, Kevin Love and Tyler Hansbrough. But during Saturday's Final Four games both were shut down and their respective teams were sent home. Joey Dorsey help Love in check all night limiting him to just 12 points and 9 boards. "Ill tell you what, it makes me hungry," said love, when asked whether the loss might sway him to stay another year. "I made it to the Final Four, but I came here to win a national championship. But a lot will go into that decision." Kevin Love played great during the Tournament and at times carried the load for UCLA down the stretch. Love admits that he needs to lose weight, get stronger and needs to work on his overall game. Odds are that he will decide to work on those parts of his game while collecting and NBA paycheck. Tyler Hansbrough was mugged all night long and Kansas decided to rotate four defenders on Hansbough which limited him to 17 points and 9 rebounds. North Carolina's offense runs through Hansbrough and coach Bill Self of Kansas did his best to limit the amount of touches that Tyler would get down low. Hansbrough ended up wilting down the stretch. He missed his final two shots and contributed two late turnovers. "There was a point where we felt that everything was going our way," Hansbrough said. "But they made little runs, and we didn't get stops. Then they kept coming at us. We kind of went into a panic mode after that." Tyler Hansbrough will have to sit down and decide whether he wants this game to be his last one wearing Carolina Blue. Tyler gave no clues either to his decision. "It's frustrating to come so far," he said. "No team wants to lose like this when they feel they are so close. Especially when you think you're team is playing well. But we didn't play the way we should have. They just beat us tonight." Both Big men during the NCAA Tournament were so vital to their teams success. Kevin Love and Tyler Hansbrough are the big reasons why North Carolina and UCLA are playing in the Final Four. Hopefully we get one more year out of these two players before they turn to the NBA. |
