This years Super Bowl is over and yet again another Manning has a ring to put on his finger. When Peyton Manning won his Super Bowl ring last year, the thought was that finally he got that monkey off his back. With all of his seemingly bad luck in the playoffs, as the Patriots crushed his hopes year after year, finally he was able to make it all the way through the playoffs, without having to play the Patriots, and on to the Super Bowl. There was a lot of doubt as to his shaky luck, and many wondered if Peyton's nerves would get the bet of him like other quarterback's have in the past. Peyton came through it all with a win and a new shiny ring to put on his finger. With that done the Colts looked again like they would put themselves in position to have another chance at the Super Bowl this year. On the other hand in the NFC, little Eli Manning was making a bit of noise as the Giants pushed to an eventual 11-0 road winning streak.
Before the Colts lost to San Diego, there was that little thought in everyone's mind: What if the Super Bowl is the New York Giants vs. The Indianapolis Colts?? That would have been a game, but most people shrugged it off by saying the Giants have no chance of making the Super Bowl. At least not with the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys being as good as they are. The Giants proved everyone wrong when they went into Dallas and won, and then marched onward to Green Bay and beat the Pack in the cold. It was starting to look like Eli and Peyton switched jerseys!
Besides this year's Super Bowl being one that made history in so many ways, I will never forget the nervous look on Peyton Manning's face every time he was shown sitting in the press box looking on. It looked like he could have used a stiff drink. The history that's going to be remembered from this game is the Patriots going undefeated all season long, only to loose in the Super Bowl. The first time two different people with the same last name won the Super Bowl. Plus Welker's most receptions ever caught in a Super Bowl by a single receiver. This year was full of history and ended up being one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. But the best thing was to see Peyton Manning supporting his brother, instead of pouting at home, because he did not go to the Super Bowl.
