Similar to a parlay, a teaser is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers but is different in that it also allows you to adjust the point spread of each individual wager. In exchange for the points, you will get less in return for your bet. Each of the individual bets must be won for the bet to go through but if any single wager is a push the bet is still good and the odds will adjust on the remaining wagers.
There are two types of teasers known. The first kind is called a “Super Teaser” allows the better to choose 3,4, and in some cases 5 teams and gives a larger number of points to add or subtract to the selections chosen.
The second kind of teaser, known as the “Vegas Teaser”, is more of a combination between a parlay and the first teaser explained. The better will receive a fewer number of points to adjust the spread of the selections chosen, but the higher the number of selections chosen the higher the payout.
An example of a teaser is that you choose to take a 5 team parlay which includes the Vikings +4, Chiefs -4, Broncos -3, Rams +9, and Eagles -1. You choose to tease the bet by 6 points. Now your spreads list as Vikings +10, Chiefs +2, Broncos +3, Rams +15, and Eagles +5. The odds have turned greatly in your favor, this will increase the likelihood of you winning your bet but in return will decrease the amount of your payout.
